SUMMARY:Material science
DESCRIPTION:Seminar content \nPlastics are universal materials made to measure. Accordingly\, the choice is almost limitless – and therefore confusing. In plain language\, this means that the right material must be found based on the requirements of the plastic part to be designed. If this is taken to heart\, the subsequent success of the project is within reach. \nIn this seminar\, we will show you methods for accurate material selection\, both with petro-based and bio-based plastics. In addition to specialist knowledge of materials technology\, we will teach you how to use various material databases\, which will be an indispensable aid to you. Based on an exemplary list of requirements\, you will have the opportunity to successfully select the material yourself with our support. If you have taken part in our seminar “The precise requirements profile”\, you can of course use the requirements profile you created there. \nNote: You can bring suitable documents (requirements list etc.) for a planned product from your company to work with in the workshop. \nPrerequisite \nBasic knowledge of plastics technology \nRecommended: “The dynamic requirements profile” \nTarget group \n\nProject / product managers\nDevelopment engineers\nEngineers and designers\nEmployees and managers in the quality area\nMold makers and plastics processors\nCareer changers in the plastics industry\n\nDetails \nTheory: \n\nBasic and in-depth material science on petro- and bio-based plastics\nGuidelines for material selection\n\nPractice: \n\nFamiliarization with various online and software-implemented material databases\nMaterial size selection based on an example product\nDetailed material selection based on your own (planned) product\n\n  \nOn-site implementation possible on request!

SUMMARY:Online trainingCoupled simulation: MOLDFLOW+ FEM
DESCRIPTION:4 online appointments:\n4./6./11./13.6. 2024\neach 13.30-16.30 \nTraining content \nWe use Moldflow to predict the optimum feasibility of a plastic injection molded part. However\, this does not give us any information as to whether the plastic part will withstand the mechanical or thermal requirements during use. The answers are provided by the non-linear FEM calculation. Since the injection molding process has a significant micro-local influence on the material properties – in the form of fiber orientation\, residual stresses\, weld lines – a reliable prediction of the durability of a plastic part can only be guaranteed by coupling process simulation (with Moldflow) and strength calculation (e.g. with Nastran\, Ansys\, Abaqus) with the help of property mapping (“material modeling”). Although this technology is complex\, we can teach you step by step. This enables both the verification and optimization of digital plastic designs. \nThe following are taken into account: \n\nFiber orientation\nResidual voltages\nSeam strength\nWarping geometry\nBreakage behavior\n\nIn our training course\, we demonstrate the coupling of the two simulations FEM and Moldflow through to fracture simulation (Progressive Failure Analysis) using clear teaching and practical examples. \n  \nPrerequisite: \nBasic knowledge of plastics technology \n  \nTarget group: \nSpecialists from the fields of … \n\nProject / product management\nDevelopment\nQuality assurance\nSimulation\n\n  \nDetails \n\nFundamentals of strength theory for plastics\nDifferences between linear and non-linear calculation\nOverview of injection molding simulation\, material modeling\, FEM\nExamples from practice\n\n  \nOn request: implementation in a closed group with customer-specific requirements possible! SUMMARY:The skillful selection of materialsat ENGEL Austria
\nIn this seminar\, we will show you methods for accurate material selection. \nPrerequisite \nBasic knowledge of plastics technology \nRecommended: “The dynamic requirements profile” \nTarget group \n\nProject / product managers\nDevelopment engineers\nEngineers and designers\nEmployees and managers in the quality area\nMold makers and plastics processors\nCareer changers in the plastics industry\n\nDetails \nTheory: \n\nBasic and in-depth material science on plastics\nGuidelines for material selection\n\nPractice: \n\nFamiliarization with various online and software-implemented material databases\nMaterial size selection based on an example product\nDetailed material selection based on your own (planned) product\n\n  \nOn-site implementation possible on request!

SUMMARY:The dynamic requirements profileat ENGEL Austria
DESCRIPTION:Seminar content \nBecause plastics can be used in a wide range of applications\, it is extremely important to take all direct boundary conditions into account. But the question of how the product can continue to add value for you at the end of its life must also be answered at this stage. The possible gaps are numerous and often fatal in their effects. \nIn this seminar\, we will show you methods for seamless and efficient product profiling. Get your planned project off the ground safely! We can help you with this. \nPrerequisite \nBasic knowledge of plastics technology \nTarget group \nEmployees from the following areas: \n\nProject / product responsibility\nDevelopment\nQuality management\n\nDetails \nTheory: \n\nPrinciples and guidelines for creating requirement lists\nMethods for creating requirement lists\nExemplary property images of plastic parts in typical applications and in borderline areas\n\nPractice: \n\nCreation of valid property images based on a product example\nDedicated weighting of properties\nCreation of a precise requirements profile\nComparison and updating of the created requirements profile\n\nDates: \n\nOn-site implementation possible on request!

SUMMARY:PERFECT SHAPEDigital technologies for innovative product development
DESCRIPTION:Digital technologies for innovative product development\nToday\, the development of a plastic part is completed in much shorter cycles than a few years ago – this is well known and you feel it every day. As a result\, some proven and helpful technologies are no longer used\, and new technologies are not used because there is no time to familiarize them. The result is decreasing development quality\, which is to be permanently rectified in downstream correction loops. \nThe question of the guidelines used for development is often described as “similarity to other products” in addition to the usual CAD methods. This certainly harbours the risk of always making the same mistakes or continually leaving optimization potential unused. \nUsing suitable teaching and practical examples\, we show you how we use old and new technology profitably for efficient component optimization and thus raise our customers’ development work to a new level. \n  \nCONTENTS: \nIn our seminar\, we present a range of technologies that – unlike conventional methods – can help you to bring contemporary\, innovative developments to the market.\nLet yourself be surprised by the possibilities of simulative DoE\, topology optimization\, generative design and more. \nAfter this seminar: \n\nyou will gain an insight into the innovative technologies with illustrative examples.\nyou have an idea of when you can use which tool for what.\nyou will know what possibilities the new tools offer and where their limits currently lie.\n\n  \nFOR WHOM? \nEveryone who works in product development. \n  \nPRELIMINARY KNOWLEDGE \nnone \n  \nThe workshop times are on both days from 9.00 am – 5.00 pm
