Training content

The training course “Generative Design – Basic Course” teaches the basic application and advantages of this innovative design method. In the course, participants will learn how to use the powerful algorithms of Autodesk Fusion 360 to automatically create efficient and optimized designs. The training focuses on the following key aspects:

• Automated design exploration: Learn how generative design automatically generates a variety of design alternatives based on specific requirements and constraints such as load capacity, weight reduction and material selection.
• Integrating AI and simulation: Learn how artificial intelligence and advanced simulations work together to accelerate design processes while improving product performance through precise analysis.
• Optimization for manufacturing: Gain insight into adapting designs to specific manufacturing processes, including 3D printing, casting and CNC machining, to maximize feasibility and cost efficiency.

This training provides practical guidance and technical insights that enable engineers and designers to learn about and apply the potential of generative design.  

Prerequisite knowledge:

Basic knowledge of mechanics, CAD and simulation in general will help you to better understand the entire process.

Prerequisite technology:

Installation of Fusion 360 with extension “Generative Design”. You can try Fusion and the extensions free of charge for 30 days or subscribe for a monthly fee.
